Qwerty: The Musical - Synopsis (page 3/4)

As the workload mounts up and the course becomes more fraught, Sally and Ann drop out. And Susan becomes depressed when she realises that, despite her superior education, she can’t keep up with the rest of the class.

We take a look at the home life of Susan and Frankie. Susan is extremely dependant on the attentive Alec, and would be ready to quit the course in despair except for his sympathetic support. Frankie, on the other hand, dominates her pleasant but blustering husband Des with a mix of sexual carrot and sharp-tongued ‘stick’.

During a shopping session in the Christmas holidays, Alec meets secretly with his mistress, 18-year-old student Caroline. Coincidentally, they are observed by Frankie. It is only later, when Susan introduces Frankie to Alec, that Frankie realises who he is and Alec realises his secret is out.
